Vineyards
of the Valley
Vineyards nestled in the valleys of Peñafiel and Curiel at an altitude of 750 metres, in the southern part of the Designation of Origin. Due to their location, the grapes from these vineyards acquire excellent tannins and perfect ripeness.

BERCIAL

Its proximity to the River Duero has, over many years, shaped an alluvial soil of sand and siliceous stones. This proximity has a direct influence on the ripening of the 34,100 plants that make up these vineyards.
MATAMOSCAS Y SOLANAS

Vineyards located on the slopes near Peñafiel at an altitude of around 800 metres. The soil in the higher areas is composed of clay, while in the lower areas it is sandy due to erosion. Its eastern orientation provides the vines with a high degree of sunlight and air currents, thus ensuring the perfect health of the 29,800 plants that make up these vineyards.

Vineyards nestled in the Fompedraza páramo at an altitude of over 900 metres, this being the southernmost area of the Designation of Origin and also the highest.
The climate in this area is cooler, which results in slower and more prolonged ripening. The difference in ripening between the valley and the moor is estimated at 10 days.
This difference in temperature slows down the evolution of sugars, giving more time for the phenolic compounds in the grape to ripen.

ALMENDRALERA

Vineyard located on the grounds where the winery is located. Its soil is mainly limestone and its 33,330 vines benefit from the air currents that rise from the valley, reducing the likelihood of frost and promoting good health.
NAVA

Sandy loam soil in which the roots can develop easily and allow its 13,600 vines to complete a stress-free cycle.
ROBLEDILLO

The soil of this vineyard is sandy loam, fertile and very structured, formed by blacker soils that give the grapes a high intensity of flavour and elegance to their tannins. The 56,400 vines ripen slowly.
HOYADA

Vineyard located in the southernmost part of the entire Designation of Origin. Its stony, limestone soil and arid conditions mean that production is low. Given the composition of the soil, the grapes from the 32,500 vines that make up the vineyard have a lot of personality, intense tannins and high concentration, which has led us to produce a wine that bears its own name.
